Last night to kick off the youth camp week, Brother David McGovern preached about zombies! It was a total and random topic yet it seems to fit perfectly in our world today. Hollywood has a fascination with vampires and zombies...the undead or as Bro. McGovern called it the living dead.
And while I've watched my fair share of entertainment that includes zombies...the walking dead, anyone?! I don't think that I'll have the same mindset after hearing last night's message.
He preached that our world is overrun with people alive yet not living. These said people have been infected with a virus aka sin that has affected their hearts and brains and their lifestyles
This virus destroys their sense of touch so much like the undead that can touch a hot stove and no longer feel the heat...they're unable to feel god anymore, even though he is hot and close and relevant as before...
Those affect by this deadly disease begin to crave human flesh, hence an zombie survival guide...it causes them to "eat" and desire worldly, fleshly things...they begin to feed their flesh much more than they feed their spirit.
I liked his last point the best and since I'm on my phone, I'm not going to go searching for the scripture. It's in Revelation when God is talking to the church in Laodecia and he spews them out of his mouth because they are neither hot nor cold just like the undead are neither living nor dead.
It was a great message and a perfect jump start to kick off the week. So ask yourself: are you alive or are you living? Are you fulfilling your purpose in God or are you just coasting through life content to feast on worldly things? Are you hot or cold? On fire or not on fire? The bible says for us to examine ourselves...I urge you to search your heart and your life and make sure you're not a zombie!!
If you want to improve; be content to be thought foolish and stupid -Epictetus

South Texas Youth Camp 2012
Today is the day! We leave in a couple hours for youth camp!! We have 31 people going this year...well 33 if you count my Pastor and his wife. They are the district youth leaders so they run youth camp each year. I think this might be a record..
I am sooooo excited! I pray that each person attending gets filled with the Holy Ghost for the first time or gets refreshed with the Holy Ghost. I want the youth to experience something this week that they will never ever forget, something that will keep them through the crazy teenage years that they are in, something that causes them to run after God with everything they have.
I'm the one that registered everyone and I have all the forms and stuff...so I'm driving myself crazy that I'm forgetting something and we'll be stuck outside of camp unable to get in! Haha, oh well, I'm sure everything will be fine!
See y'all in a week! Pray for us!

Send something good - the reveal
Okay....a while ago I had posted about how I was participating in a round-robin, blogger, care package thing called Send Something Good. The big reveal is finally here!!
The only thing better than getting something in the mail is knowing that someone else liked what you sent them. So here's the link to Eeka's post about what I sent her...I totally forgot to take pictures but she posted some on her blog. I was soooo excited to participate and couldn't wait for her to receive her package...I kept checking her page every day to see if maybe she would mention anything about it lol!
Now on to what I received. Traci at Rose & Lou is the blogger that had me! Everything she sent was sooo perfect! And here's the link to her post about the reveal and here are pictures of what she sent me:
