2012: A better me

Well, I reckon I should post some goals for 2012...things that I'm giving up or starting and things that I hope to accomplish before the clock strikes January 2013...

1. Give up soda and candy for the whole year. Emily and I are teaming up to accomplish these. We chugged our last soda together at 11:58 on New Year's Eve. The first to break after the new year has to buy the other person a drink or a candy so they can break too! I can do this. I can do this. I think I can, I think I can. Haha. These past two days have been HARD. I need some caffeine :)

2. Read the Bible everyday. How can God speak to me if I'm not listening, i.e. reading his word? I want 2012 to be a year of devotion and growth. I want to search his word and find out what I believe and why I believe it. I want to get convictions, set my own standards, learn what God wants from ME. I want to fall head over heels, crazy in love with my Savior.

3. Be a better friend. I have some dear friends that I don't plan on losing anytime soon. I think, and they also tell me that I'm a good friend...but there's always room for improvement, right? And I want to move into that room ;) haha

4. This will be an overall musical goal...Play piano more. Keep learning the guitar. Write more songs. Put the songs to music. Practice with Olivia and record more YouTube videos. Play in front of a crowd.

5. And this will be an artistic, creativity goal. Blog, Blog, BLOG! Sew way more! Craft: new ideas and often! Take some kind of dance class this year.

6. Love more, love often, love hard. Love people despite their actions towards me. Love strangers, love friends, love enemies.

7. Be WONDERSTRUCK! I've got a year to discover new interests, travel anywhere, explore new places, meet new people. Be totally and completely head over heels in love with myself and my life. To find beauty in any and everything. To be breathless at the ordinary, everyday things. To be blown away by vastness of the world. To view things with the innocence of a child's eyes. To not be so busy that I miss out on all the little things.

8. Get in shape. I want to run my marathon this year...not ifs, ands or butts.

What are some of your resolutions for the new year?
