Oh baby, baby, baby!

I am rather in love with baby names. I think I’m more excited to one day name my children than to actually have the babies ;)


I scour baby name blogs and devour birth announcements. It’s no surprise for me to shoot a baby name to my sisters and ask their opinion. And while I’m not trying for kids, married, dating, or interested in a guy right now, it’s still really fun. A couple weeks ago, I had my sisters list some baby names. The prompt was: If you had 6 babies right now, 3 girls, 3 boys, what would you name them?


Here are our responses. It was pretty interesting to see how different and how alike our names are. Some names even being repeated over different lists. Some with popular names and then some totally obscure names.


Alex Nichole, my older sister, already has a Lawrence James and an Alanya Hayden:

Sloan Marie/Vivian (Marie is our mom’s middle name/Vivian is our great grandmothers first name) Wade Seviyorum (Middle name is love in Turkish) Manning L'nei (L’nei is my middle name) Oliver Raymond (Raymond is out grandfather's name) Hawthorne Cole (Cole is a play on Alex’s middle name Nichole) Burrell Theodore (Burrell is our father’s name, goes by Ed because his middle name is Edward)

Dehli Chantel, my younger sister:

Kaycee Marie (Again with my mom’s middle name) Natascha Lanae (This is my name, different spellings: Natasha L’nei…I think it would be really cool to have a niece named after me, but she’d quickly become my favorite lol ;) Izabella Lee (Lee is Dehli’s fiancé’s middle name) Hayden Nichole (Hayden is Alex’s daughter’s middle name and Nichole is her middle name)
Landon Edward (Edward after my dad) Aiden James (James is our nephew's middle name) Alan Lee (Her fiancé’s name)

Olivia Meret is the baby:

Layla Maybrooke Mason Amor Katara Collet (Cole-lay)
Marcoux Brady Omri Cole (again play on Alex’s middle name) Hancock (Our last name)

And lastly here is my list:

Ellington Rain Noah Rose Aberdeen Phoenix Hale
Graham Elliot Atticus Cole Miles Ritter

But since writing this, I’ve already changed my names around again...go figure lol:

Ellington Rose (Rose is our mother’s name) Aberdeen Hale (Aberdeen is a city name, Hale is our great grandmother’s last name) Olive Mercer (Olive for Olivia and Mercer just because) Noah Arden (this is the only one that has no family significance…and I’m not sure if I would use it, for that reason)
Edison Cole (Edison after my father, Edward. Cole, after my older sister) Graham Elliot (My dad’s mom goes by Gram to just about everyone…I thought it’d be a great play on words for a son and Elliot after the missionary, Jim Elliot) Odin Ritter (Just like the name Odin and Ritter is my mother’s maiden name) Miles Brando (Miles, just cause and Brando is the first letter of my immediate family’s names Burrell Rose Alex Natasha Dehli Olivia…it has been our family’s dog’s name for the last 8 years but I’m wrongly hoping that he won’t be around when I’m having this child lol)

And while I don’t want eight children, I will be so sad when I have to throw names away. I think I’ll start adopting animals so that I can use the leftover names. :)
