Celebrity Cover-up - 2013 People's Choice Awards

This cover-up post finds us covering the People's Choice Awards red carpet.

Here are my favorite and modest outfits from the night.

Rumer Willis - (Oh, to have Bruce Willis and Demi Moore as parents...haha) Rumer looks great in this sparkly, striped dress.

Here, we have a repeat offender ;) with Julianne Hough.

Ellen Pompeo, in a beautiful, white dress. I like casual/elegant mix with the rumpled sleeves/floor length.

This time I saved my favorite for last. I adore Katy Perry's outfit choice. I read articles that said she looked frumpy...and some that said she looked underdressed, but I think she is just the person to pull off something so simply beautiful.

Next up, the SAG awards!

Celebrity Cover-up - 2013 Golden Globes

I did my first Celebrity Cover-up almost a year ago...and the last one I did was in March (yes, I've been a really, really bad blogger)...but I like scouring red carpet looks so I've decided to bring back up this series (Can you call it a series, if you only did it three times?? Hmp...I vote yes.).

Yesterday saw the 2013 Golden Globes. Here are some celebrities I saw "covered-up" in dresses that I just adore!

Enjoy:

Adele - I love her. Although, I am annoyed (albeit, understanding) that she won't share her son's name with the public. I drool over baby names so I'm curious to see how she did in choosing one.

Emily Deschanel - I really like the sleeves on this one.

Jacki Weaver - I don't know who she is (forgive me, Jacki) but I'm liking the kelly green dress:

Julianne Hough - I finally watched the remake of Footloose and I have to say, I was pretty impressed. Anywho, every once in a while, my girly-ness comes out...and this is one of those times. I really like the ruffles!

Mayim Bialik - I think this one is my favorite.

I saved Ariel Winter for last because the Yahoo Blog I read gave her a C- grade on her outfit and I couldn't disagree more. Here are the comments from the writer:
"Who didn't wear something at age 14 that now makes you cringe? Unfortunately for "Modern Family" starlet Ariel Winter, the Valentino floral frock she wore to the Golden Globes – accessorized with a Jennifer Behr headpiece, Benjamin Adams shoes, and a Jimmy Choo clutch — will be one of those looks she regrets from when she was young."
Wow...She's 14! The "frock" is a totally age-appropriate floral dress! And she looks adorable. So she's not wearing a low-cut, high-hemmed, skin-tight dress...she's wearing a cute dress that makes her look 14. Kudos to Ariel's stylist or parents...or I guess, maybe even Ariel.

Next up: People's Choice Awards.

Celebrity Cover-up: Elizabeth Banks - Hunger Games Premieres

I saw the Hunger Games opening night at midnight! I was uber exhausted the next day but it was soooo good that I couldn't complain! I read the books a while ago so I'd been anticipating the movies for quite some time. I have to say that I was pretty impressed. The book was obviously better but there wasn't the huge letdown like there is with some book-movies...a la Twilight.

While scanning Red Carpet looks for the movie premieres, I realized that I hadn't done a celebrity cover-up recently and Elizabeth Banks fit the bill! Here are three looks that she wore this month at premiers that I thought were gorgeous as well as pretty modest:

in Berlin
in Paris
in London: I read that this is a backless dress so we'll just say this is Mostly Modest lol

Which one is your favorite?
I can't choose between the Berlin and London one!

Celebrity Cover-up: Screen Actors Guild Awards

The 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were held on January 29th of this year. While I'm a little late, I decided to do a Celebrity Cover-up from the red carpet arrivals
Here are a few modest and yet gorgeous gowns that I liked:

I'll start with my favorite, Emilia Clarke. I love the feathers, the shoulders, the collar...basically everything about this dress :D

The ever beautiful, Meryl Streep:

Judy Greer in a stunning wedding dress look-alike:

Penelope Miller in a lovely blue lace dress. I'm in love with lace so it's no surprise that I love this dress! PS: I just discovered that she is the same Penelope Miller who played Brenda in Adventures in Babysitting back in the 80's. If you haven't seen that movie, you need to NOW! It's hilarious...my whole family can quote if from beginning to end!

Zoe Saldana is probably one of my favorite actresses...and not so much for the acting, which is good...but because I think she is so gorgeous! Top on my list of girl crushes...haha

Octavia Spencer in a silver gown:

And lastly, here is Gretchen Mol in a white and gold dress:

Well, there you have it. Which dress is your favorite?

Celebrity Cover-up: Ginnifer Goodwin & Kelly Osbourne

While I realize that you have to take most (all) celebrities with a grain of sand, some surprisingly choose very modest and still adorable/hot/gorgeous/stunning outfits for the red carpet. We are so used to seeing them wear next to nothing, I thought I'd start highlighting those that are covered up.

I flipped through some red carpet arrivals for the 2012 People's Choice Awards and I've gotta say that I kept coming back to these two ladies.

Ginnifer Goodwin - currently, I love her in Once Upon a Time. She's such a good pick for current day Snow White. She was also great in Something Borrowed. Some people were saying the dress was hideous and looked like Joan Jetson...but I think it's adorable! The sleeves are cute and the cocktail dress length is perfect.

The second person, I am actually surpised that I liked her dress is Kelly Osbourne. I'm not a big fan of her but I was really digging the dress. Some articles said that it was too plain but I think that sometimes simple can be just right...and in this case, definitely so. While I'm not yet sure how I feel about the new grey-ish hair, the orange dress was a great choice.

Oh and did I mention that her shoes were to die for!?!

What do y'all think? Would you ever wear these dresses?!
